AEA
Bucharest Meeting
The Romanian capital was the location of the annual general meeting of the European Association of Hearing Care Professionals (AEA), presided by Benoît Roy, also the President of the National Association of French Hearing Care Professional Unions (UNSAF). Representatives of all the countries attended: Germany, Austria, Belgium, Spain, France, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Switzerland and Romania. This general meeting was the first since the official recognition of the AEA as a non-profit international association, a status that gives it an existence in law and allows it to be a privileged representative with European institutions. This meeting was also the occasion to elect new members of the technical department of the AEA: the European Committee of Audiology Techniques (CETA) : Corrado Canovi (Italy), Jaroslaw Dubczynski (Poland), Peter Edelhauser (Austria), Ahsen Enderle-Ammour (Germany), François Le Her (France), Juan Ignacio-Martinez (Spain) and Mark Laureyns (Belgium). During the general meeting, each of the members was able to talk about the development of the market and regulations in his respective country. There were two objectives: the pursuit of standardization of training programs and practices, and the expansion to other European countries to gain better representation.
