
Despite delegate numbers being 12 percent down on the previous year, the 2009 AudiologyNOW congress in Dallas was as impressive as ever. The event had been expanded to include an Academy Research Conference and the first annual Student Academy of Audiology Fair. The manufacturers didn’t fail to impress with a huge array of new product launches. Bernafon, launched Vérité, Hansaton showed Velvet X-Mini and Loona X-Mini and Interton had the new Avio, across all price points. Oticon proved a hit with their stand being voted best in show and they also launched Hit and Hit-Pro, and entry-level product on the RISE platform. Phonak had a raft of new product extensions and additions, including Audéo Yes IX, Naida IX, Nios for children, microPetite and Click’nTalk. Starkey held a launch party for the new S Series with Drive Architecture, Unitron showed their new branding and a new premium product called Passport and Widex unveiled mind330, a mid-range addition.
